48.78% Yes
51.21% No

Comment: They need to come up with a plan that ALL US citizens would be cared for under. They don't deserve any better health care that what we can get. by Jan

Comment: it's time we realize what "social responsibility" means! Quit your whining and realize we NEED to take care of our people! by Angela

Comment: I think the people should be able to vote on this matter and not have it forced upon them. by janice

Comment: This is a democracy, and this was not an example of that.. by Dara

Comment: Yes if you're talking about now that they have passed the bill..otherwise, no! Perhaps the right would like my insurance coverage and health care and I'll take theirs...could be I don't have deep enough pockets! by Debra

Comment: If they were following the will of the people, it wouldn't be being passed to President Obama's desk. All other polls indicate that the public doesn't want this "insurance package." by Jessica

Comment: This version of their health care "fix" is an abomination. by Larry

Comment: If they were listening to the people, they would know that they honestly do not want this. They would realize that the only people who want this are those too lazy to get a job, those who won't get insurance themselves, and those who prefer to be taken care of rather than work for themselves. by Ashley

Comment: I don't think the Congress was listening to the people at all. It's too bad they didn't let the people vote on this issue. After all we are the ones paying for it! by Mike

Comment: Congress and politicians don't care about the people they care about themselves and money! by Scott

Comment: This is the worst administration I've ever seen! My father was a devout democrat and he I'm sure is rolling over in his grave over this B.S. by John

Comment: I think the Democrats are bending to the pressure of the President and not voting with the will of the people. I am totally disgusted that Congress is getting into private business. Stop paying all the bills for illegal aliens and we would not have a problem. by Ed

Comment: Health Care Reform is needed. Doing nothing is not the answer. We need to start somewhere. by Sandra

Comment: I am amazed at how blatant the Republicans are at distorting the facts and misleading the public regarding everything the Democrats have initiated. by Steve

Comment: It is about time lower income people received the health care and protection they need. It's about service to them, not insurance companies nor those who have adequate insurance. by louann

Comment: We live in a country not dependent upon our government. It is not their job to take care of us. We should be self-sufficient ourselves, not relying upon someone else to take care of us. by Smith

Comment: Those people don't have to worry about health care or the cost, so they don't care what happens to the rest of us. Let's vote out everyone that voted for the bill.

Comment: Obama doesn't care about the people, he just wants to show he has power and he intends to use it to his glory. by S

Comment: People want changes in health care, but not these huge changes that our Democratic Congress gave us. We should be making small changes, such as litigation reform, letting people buy insurance across state borders, letting small businesses & others join cooperatives to cut premium costs. What democratics forced upon us is more administratives cost not necessarily a better healthcare system. by Julie

Comment: This is so messed up. People need to study it diligently and they will see what I mean. You know the old saying that if it seems too good to be true, then it usually. Shame on some of those spineless congressmen. by sharyl

Comment: This is not health care reform. They need to do something about the outrageous fees charged by doctors and hospitals. by Raymond

Comment: How can health care get any worse than it already is? Any reform bill has to make it better. The amount of money spent by the Health Insurance and Health Care companies against the bill is one way to know the bill will be for the peoples' benefit. by Mary

Comment: But that shouldn't be a shock to anyone! by Adam

Comment: Its about time we get a handle on rising health care costs and insurance premiums. by Larry

Comment: Is it fair for those who work hard for their money to have to forfeit it to the government to pay for those who don't want to work to have free health care?? If my family needs medical help that is my responsibility as a US citizen, not the governments. May God save us!! by Vicki

Comment: Beginning of the steep downhill slide into socialism. Getting everyone on some form of entitlement is what Obama wants, however. This is the beginning of the end of the US. by Dan

Comment: Some of us want more reform, some want less, but most of the people are in the middle and say YES. by Bob

Comment: If I have to endure the changes of the health care system then our elected representatives should be subject to the same conditions and should give up their present all encompassing health care plan that I am paying for. by David

Comment: One step closer to communism. Back room deals to between crooked politicians who don't listen to the people that voted them in. Now it's time to vote them out! by Jason

Comment: Way too expensive. Cadillac plans untouched for years. No provision for increasing physician providers. Access will be compromised. by John

Comment: They are doing what they want without regard to our cost in the future. The way they went about it may be unconstitutional.

Comment: This bill is in everyone's best interest. Read about it and decide for yourself. Don't just go by what you hear. by Harold

Comment: We are angry that the people are not being heard. We don't think it's right to require us to have health insurance. It's my choice if I want to pay for it or not! by Joe

Comment: Undemocratic and counter to the the parliamentary procedures of the house and senate. Unprecedented power theft by Federal Government by Paul

Comment: Why don't we ever fix the real problems? Why is it always the people's responsibility. Fix the insurance companies. Stop the greed. They make enough money to provide insurance. Just take a look at the houses they live in and the cars they drive. I can't even afford to dream about such.

Comment: Congress is on a power surge of government take over. The government can't even run the postal system, they need to stay out of the health care system. by George

Comment: NOT the will of the people or the basic law of our land: the Constitution!!! by Deb

Comment: The will of the people?? Absolutely NOT. We the people have clearly voiced that WE DO NOT want government forced health care. They need to read the constitution, study the founding of our nation, & then back off & let us take care of ourselves!!! by Deb

Comment: Absolutely! Don't call it socialism, call it logical! by Perry

Comment: I think Congress is totally disregarding the will of the American people. by Jack

Comment: Just like they will not put Gay Marriages up to a popular vote they have to go behind our backs and tell us what is right! by Bill

Comment: they couldn't fix social security and medicare how do they think they can take on something this big and make it work with out going bankrupt and it is not right for congress to tell anyone they have to pay for insurance by Keith

Comment: IT SEEMS LIKE THE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE MUCH SAY ABOUT ANYTHING ANYMORE. by BOB

Comment: I think there are some things that should be rights not just privileges. and one of those is health care. No one should be forced to go home and die due to a lack of insurance. Or a pre-existing condition. by nick

Comment: the democrats are ramming this down our throats by Roger

Comment: This is 100 years overdue. A country cannot be great without a moral obligation to the well being of ALL of its citizens. by Don

Comment: It seems the will of the people doesn't matter to those we pay to represent us. The health care industry needs some reform, but not through backdoor run-around tactic.

Comment: I feel those for it are just too realistic, busy & ethical to "yell & scream". All those that say "I don't want my insurance to change". Their ins could change tomorrow. Corps can change the ins they offer employees at anytime and will. Or if they loose their job tomorrow, it changes. Cobra costs more than anyone who looses their job can afford. And when cobra runs out? do you have high cholesterol? Guess what, that is a pre-existing condition, you can not be covered for heart attack. If I made more that 250k/yr, I would be happy to pay my share. What a burden! (I am being sarcastic.) That attitude is the same attitude that is taken by most corp people making more than 200K / yr. I know I was one of them at one time. by Debra

Comment: Make our health care and the government's health care the same. After all are they not working for us ??????? by Jean

Comment: It is all about personal gains and deals for our Congressmen. Peoples opinions obviously do not count. We have been betrayed by our congress. by David

Comment: Government-run health care will destroy this great country--and quite honestly. that's exactly what Obama and the Democrats rammed through this weekend by Sue

Comment: Yes, absolutely! by Joan

Comment: Yes we as a nation voted for Barak Oboma's "Yes We Can" Change Agenda. It's Time yo keep our backs to the effort of active change. Let the GOP cry It's our time to get the peoples work done. by Joanne

Comment: Congress is still not listening to the people they are supposed to represent. Time to start over. by Ken
